Michelle Zeitlin Leaves BBA

"I came to BBA with a mission to reinforce its world-class talent pool particularly in dance, and feel that I have accomplished that goal. It's been a great run of career breakthroughs and major new achievements for many BBA clients. But I've now decided to refocus my energies on my own production efforts, via Choreography Central and More Zap Productions."

BBA Discontinues Dance Dept in Absense of it's Prized Director

The following info was excerpted from a BBA press release:

Michelle Zeitlin's decision to leave BBA prompts management to close its department. In a letter sent to clients, BBA president Patty Grana issued warm praise and thanks to Zeitlin for her role in expanding the dance department's talent roster. "Michelle is one of that rare breed who is both creative and business-savvy, particularly in the brass tacks of talent contract negotiations, and will be greatly missed. While the agency honors Michelle's decision and upon further consideration, we've decided to discontinue the Dance and Choreography Department in her absence.

It's been a great run of career breakthroughs and major new achievements for many BBA clients. But I've now decided to refocus my energies on my own production efforts, via Choreography Central and More Zap Productions. I'm sorry to say good-bye to my friends and colleagues at BBA, but look forward to exciting new opportunities that have arisen through these companies."

"BBA's Dance Department has had a presence in our publications since the mid-90's. Led at different times by Teresa Campbell, Brian Gendece, and Michelle Zeitlin, BBA's dance department always managed to stay involved. Front and center. Right in there, good times and bad. A community get-together hardly existed that didn't have BBA participation. ... Jumpcut...BBA is closing the dance dept.

What won't be lost is the good work that Teresa, Brian, and Michelle continue to do for dancers. Michelle's savvy, for example, was video'd at a recent workshop. In coming months, the same straight-from-the-hip advice she showered on clients at BBA will continue to benefit countless other dancers through a "Smart Dance" video program on A4D. Hmm. Looking at it that way...one could make a case for saying the BBA experience isn't exactly over....??” Grover Dale signature
